Unearthing Kansas History

More than four decades ago, the burnt remains of a Pawnee Indian earth lodge were uncovered. In June archaeologists - both amateur and professional - returned to the site of the historic Pawnee Indian village. This time around, they hope their finds will lead them to conclusions as to when the Pawnee lived there and what prompted them to leave.
