‘Mad Men’ gets DVD release in sync with second season

When “Mad Men” first made its splash last summer — on AMC, of all unlikely places — there was no doubt that it was going to look as sharp and shiny as a classic Cadillac tailfin. Set in 1960 amidst the hustle and bustle of Madison Avenue ad agencies (hence the title), “Mad Men” was an art director’s fever dream, full of smart suits, cool cars and cumulus clouds of cigarette smoke.
KU students to debut ‘Off the Wall’ comedy pilot

There’s no shortage of comedic movies and TV shows aimed at the college crowd. But according to Scott Winer, only a handful are actually created by college students. Winer and a troupe primarily composed of Kansas University students have responded with the independent sketch comedy show “Mildly Off the Wall.”

Aaron Tang, a 1998 Lawrence High School graduate, had a problem. As an undergraduate at the Rhode Island School of Design, he was often late to class because he turned off his alarm clock and went back to sleep without waking up. It also churned the gears in the Lawrence native’s brain to figure out why his alarm failed him and millions of other college students.
