The ACLU of Douglas County is the local chapter of the ACLU of Kansas and Western Missouri which is an affiliate of the National American Civil Liberties Union. There are about 600 members in Douglas County governed by a board elected by those members.
The local chapter is primarily involved in education and outreach in our area. We do become involved with some issues that arise in our community when there is some encroachment on the Bill of Rights that may involve a government entity(eg. City or County government, school district etc.)
